From the Desk of Kathy Naumann...
Yesteryears Coffeehouse & Cafe is a brain child. Having spent many years
traveling during business and eating in all styles of restaurants I developed
an appreciation for the "hole in the wall" types of eateries.
Yesteryears is born from a mix-n-match of small mom & pop diners , cafes
& restaurants. I learned that good coffee is a must. A wide selection of
flavored teas is just as important. Most of all, I heard over and over again
that location is the most important thing to consider.
With that in mind I set out to find a spot that I thought would give the best
visibility and easy access for the business community. I only wanted to work
Monday-Friday with nights & weekends off (hoildays too) so the spot I wouldchoose would lend itself to my wants as well as those of the community.
After locating the ideal spot I worked on decore. The motif at Yesteryears is
junk to some people and antiques to others. Regardless of your taste in
furnishings, you will discover as others have that the cafe is quaint and very
comfortable. Many conversations are had while looking around and
discovering furniture or items much like the one grandparents had, or like
something you grew up with.
By today's standards, the food is much like "what use to be" as well. We don't
use processed food and we don't deep fry. We make our soups from scratch,
our chili is homemade and our turky is really off the bone! All of our meals
are made to order and that includes our salads. We drink from mason jars
and we refer to our restroom as The Out House. We offer Daily Deals, not
Daily Specials. We accept VISA & MC, debit or credit and CASH is always
welcomed.
In November of 2007 we will be three years old. We've changed a lot and
grown even more. Depending on the day you come to the cafe will determine
if you will wait for a seat or have your choice of seating. Don't be surprised
to see others in the cafe who you know. Many locals have become steady
customers and then friends. We enjoy our clientele, and they have come to
enjoy what we have to offer.
Don't be a stranger, stop by and see if Yesteryears is something you will
be talking about tomorrow...
